I
was a patrol officer for the Salem, Oregon Police Department
for seven years when my family suffered the tragic death of
our five year old son, Derrick, who was struck by a car. The
investigators did their best to provide my family with information,
but lacked the training and expertise to collect the information
that could have been collected.
I spent the next 15 years attending every technical accident
investigation class that I could, many at my own time and
expense, so that I could provide accurate scientific data for
the cause of an accident to people who had lost family,
suffered injury or destruction of their vehicle.
I retired from the Salem Police Department on March 1,
2004, and formed Collision Dynamics Analysis Inc. (CDA).
CDA’s mission is to provide clients with answers to accidents
through technical accident investigations and reconstructions,
as well as expert testimony.
